Job Summary
Dietitian, specializing in clinical nutrition, is based in the healthcare facility. This role involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide high-quality medical nutrition therapy across all patient age groups and acuity levels. The position requires expertise in evaluating and developing nutritional care plans, as well as providing education and counseling to patients and their families.

Job Details

• Position: Dietitian in the DIET specialty
• Location: Healthcare facility (specific facility names are not included)
• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics, completion of an ACEND-accredited supervised practice program, and licensure as a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Must pass the Registration Examination for Dietitians within 3 months of hire or be registered prior to employment.
• Preferred Qualifications: One to two years of hospital clinical nutrition experience.
• Responsibilities include screening and assessing patients, evaluating nutritional needs based on age, acuity, and disease, developing and implementing nutrition care plans, providing individualized education, and monitoring therapy outcomes.
• Must maintain ongoing professional development with 75 continuing education units (CEUs) within a five-year span to meet CDR requirements.
• Additional Information: The role involves serving as a clinical resource, participating in departments and hospital-wide projects, mentoring dietetic interns, and utilizing EMR systems including Meditech and Computrition. Strong communication, organization, and computer skills are essential.
