Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist, PEDS, Northern VA This 13-week assignment offers an opportunity to provide specialized respiratory care within a healthcare facility. The role involves delivering intensive respiratory treatments, evaluations, and patient education for pediatric patients, emphasizing clinical expertise and patient safety.

Job Details

  • Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Valid respiratory therapist (RT) license; minimum 0 years of experience; location in Northern Virginia; available to work nights; three scheduled shifts per week (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) with a 12-hour shift length, totaling at least 36 hours per week.
  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
  • Responsibilities include providing routine and advanced respiratory treatments, operating various ventilatory equipment, performing chest physiotherapy, suctioning, monitoring with oximetry and capnography, reviewing chest x-rays, conducting pulmonary function studies, assisting with procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placement, and performing tracheostomy care.
  • Performs arterial punctures, monitors ventilation efficiency, and manages laboratory testing procedures where applicable.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of treatments and patient responses, communicates effectively with medical staff, and ensures proper equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Performs CPR according to BLS and ACLS guidelines and manages mechanized ventilation systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, supporting patient safety and optimal respiratory outcomes.
