Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) Location: Not specified. This position involves providing assessment, therapeutic intervention, and education for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders, specifically in neonatal, pediatric, and adult intensive care units. The role requires specialized experience in NICU, PICU, and adult care, with a focus on managing high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide, and high-risk deliveries in a Level 4 NICU setting.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: BLS (AHA), Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC, ND license (NDSBRC) or willing to apply within 72 hours, PALS, NRP, and a minimum of 2 years recent NICU, PICU, and adult experience.
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, every other weekend, holidays with 8- and 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Candidate must have experience with ventilator management down to micro preemies in a level 4 NICU, including high frequency ventilation such as Jet & HFOV, nitric oxide, high-risk deliveries, and gestational ages 22 weeks and above.
- Additional Information: The role involves complex procedures like arterial punctures, blood gas analysis, ventilation management, airway clearance, intubations, decannulation, extubations, and inter-hospital patient transport. Equipment used includes Epic documentation, Hamilton G5 & C1, V60, Airvo, Philips CoughAssist, Nitric Oxide, and various high-frequency ventilation devices. All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility and communicate effectively within a fast-paced environment. Orientation includes lab training and preceptor shifts.
