Job Summary
A Respiratory Therapist (RT PEDS) position is available in an inpatient setting within a healthcare facility. This role involves providing comprehensive respiratory care to pediatric patients, including evaluations, treatments, patient transport, and education, all within the scope of a licensed respiratory therapist.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: 0 years of experience required.
• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Provides intensive respiratory care, evaluates patient needs, and recommends treatment plans.
• Operates various ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and performs routine treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Performs chest physiotherapy, suctioning, and monitors oxygenation via oximetry and capnography.
• Conducts pulmonary function studies including NIF and VC, and assists with procedures such as bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, and tracheostomy care.
• Performs arterial punctures, reviews chest x-rays, and conducts basic arrhythmia recognition using 12-Lead EKG.
• Maintains accurate documentation of treatments and patient responses, communicates effectively during shift changes, and ensures proper equipment operation and maintenance.
• Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation in accordance with BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Performs insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes utilizing appropriate techniques, including video laryngoscopy when necessary.
• Assists with laboratory testing policies where applicable, manages equipment setup and maintenance, and ensures quality control.
• Maintains respiratory therapy records and charging accuracy, and reports all relevant findings to attending physicians.
