Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) specializes in providing advanced-level respiratory care within a healthcare facility. This role involves diagnosing, evaluating, treating, and managing deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system for pediatric patients. The position supports clinical projects, collaborates with healthcare teams, and acts as a resource to Certified Respiratory Therapists (CRT).
Job Details
- Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care; current licensed Respiratory Therapist in the practice state; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Education: Graduate of a National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) approved Respiratory Therapist program from an accredited institution.
- Location Requirements: Not specified.
- Years of Experience: 0 years minimum, with primary responsibilities focused on patient assessment, diagnostic testing, equipment troubleshooting, and medication administration.
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: The Respiratory Therapist performs diagnostic procedures, initiates respiratory protocols, administers medications, educates patients and families on health promotion and wellness, and participates in quality improvement initiatives. The role may require floating to other departments based on business needs and being placed on-call during scheduled shifts.
