Job Details

  • Position Description: The Ultrasonographer Echo performs diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures, such as transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), stress echocardiograms, and other cardiac ultrasound procedures. This role supports clinical teams by applying specialized knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology to obtain diagnostic-quality images, collaborating closely with cardiologists to ensure accurate and timely diagnosis. The position requires operating independently on moderately complex assignments and exercising clinical judgment to determine appropriate imaging methodologies. The technician is also responsible for proper documentation, adherence to safety and regulatory standards, participating in routine equipment maintenance, and providing patient education as needed.
  • Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited echocardiogram, cardiovascular sonography, or equivalent program. Certifications include Adult Echocardiography (AE) Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by ARDMS, Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by CCV, or Vascular Sonography (VS) by ARRT. BLS certification. No minimum years of experience required. Schedule: 7AM-3:30PM, Monday through Friday, with 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week.
  • Additional Information: Weekend call every 3-4 weeks depending on staffing; one week of on-call duty every 3-4 weeks depending on staffing. Department supports OR, inpatient, outpatient, and catheterization lab settings; no floating required. The role involves performing approximately 5-8 cases per day, with an emphasis on producing high-quality diagnostic images, maintaining accurate records, and participating in continuous improvement activities.
