Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist (RT PEDS) The facility seeks a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Respiratory Therapist to join their pediatric team. This role involves performing respiratory care procedures, assessing and treating patients, and providing education on respiratory disorders within a pediatric setting. The position offers guaranteed hours during daytime shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Job Details

  • Education: Graduate of AMA-approved school of Respiratory Therapy. Registered Respiratory Therapist by the NBRC. BLS required on hire. ACLS within 6 months of hire.
  • Training & Experience: Current, competent, with basic knowledge of intensive care and neonatal intensive care including EKG, arterial blood gas (ABG), spirometry, and oximetry. Team player with strong communication skills, patience, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work collaboratively and with minimal supervision.
  • Responsibilities include examining and treating patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders, monitoring and recording treatment progress, educating patients, drawing ABG samples, applying and monitoring medical gases, humidification systems, ventilators, and assisting with airway management, intubation, or tracheotomy.
  • Proficient in all modes of ventilation used at the facility, including non-invasive methods such as CPAP and BIPAP therapies.
  • Perform diagnostic testing including Pulmonary Function Testing, Electrocardiograms, Electroencephalograms, and Home sleep testing.
  • Responsible for sharing workload, including 12-hour shifts, working extended shifts, and taking after-hours call to include weekends and holidays to meet departmental needs.
  • Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
