Milwaukee, WI Pediatric Ultrasonographer (Echo) This position involves performing diagnostic echocardiography studies on pediatric patients across various age groups, including neonatal, infant, toddler, preschool, school-age, and adolescent populations. The role requires operating echocardiographic equipment, explaining procedures to patients and families, and preparing preliminary reports for cardiologist review.
Job Details
- Certifications: AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS), American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS); Pediatric Registry preferred
- Education Requirements: Associate Degree or Certificate; Bachelors Degree preferred
- Location Requirements: Must be located in the Milwaukee, WI area
- Years of Experience: 1-2+ years pediatric echocardiography experience required
- Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications listed above, associate degree or certificate, pediatric experience, and at least 1-2 years of relevant experience
- Additional Information: Operates echocardiographic equipment to produce diagnostic studies. Competent in pediatric transthoracic echocardiography, including B-Mode (parasternal, apical, subcostal, and suprasternal views) and Doppler (including color). Explains echocardiography procedures to patients and families as needed. Prepares preliminary pediatric echocardiography reports for cardiologist interpretation and reviews studies with the cardiologist.
- Unit Overview: The typical volume is 5-6 studies per day, with potential for 7-8 studies depending on clinic and inpatient orders. Scrub color is flexible; jewelry restrictions apply as specified. Flu vaccination is required.
- Interview Days: Monday through Friday
- Shift Notes: 8-hour days
