• Certifications and Education: Associate or technical degree; Proof of passing the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT); current license in the practicing state as required by law; Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Years of Experience: 0 minimum years required.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Drivers License for Home Care settings, eligibility for auto insurance coverage, and either a Blood Gas Technologist certification (in Nevada) or equivalent credential.
• Additional Certifications Needed: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP.
• Responsibilities: Perform all basic modalities of respiratory care, operate and troubleshoot mechanical ventilators, assemble and maintain durable medical equipment, conduct pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic testing, assess patient responses, and document care accurately.
• Additional Information: The incumbent may supervise department staff, work in a variety of settings, and communicate effectively with patients, families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
