The role involves delivering intensive respiratory treatments, assessing patient needs, and educating patients upon discharge to promote respiratory health and recovery.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) certification, 0 years of experience, and valid licensure within the scope of practice.
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Responsible for evaluating patient status and recommending treatment plans.
• Administers physician-prescribed respiratory treatments using various ventilatory and aerosol devices.
• Performs chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry, and capnography monitoring.
• Conducts routine review of chest x-rays and performs pulmonary function studies.
• Assists with procedures such as bronchoscopy, tracheostomy care, and chest tube placement.
• Monitors and operates ventilatory equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and documentation.
• Performs arterial punctures and interprets test results with adherence to policy.
• Provides CPR according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Manages insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes, and aids in ventilator setup and operation.
• Records treatment data, patient responses, and communicates effectively with the healthcare team.
• Maintains accurate respiratory therapy charging and documentation.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
