Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RRT) Location: Unspecified. This role involves delivering critical respiratory therapy services to inpatients, outpatients, staff, and community groups within a healthcare facility. The position requires performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, managing ventilator equipment, and ensuring patient safety and compliance with clinical standards.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited School for Respiratory Therapy; New York State Respiratory Therapy Permit or License; Registered by the NBRC as a Respiratory Therapist; BLS (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross) certification; ACLS Certification from American Heart Association (AHA).
• Schedule: Days; 12-hour shifts; Minimum 36 hours per week.
• Additional Responsibilities: Administers aerosol, CPT/Flutter/PEP Mask, Incentive Spirometry, M.D.I., suctioning, extubation, oxygen therapy, management of BiPAP-CPAP therapy, Cough Assist/Vest, High Flow Cannula, Pulmonary Function Screen, Fit Testing, Pulse Oximetry, EKG procedures, BLS life support (adult, pediatric, neonatal), mechanical ventilation, arterial puncture, blood gas analysis, quality control, and documentation. Maintains patient healthcare information systems and medication management systems, verifies physician orders, and performs departmental duties as assigned. Assists in departmental in-service programs and participates in external patient transports as needed.
• Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year experience as a Respiratory Therapist; attention to detail, collaboration, communication skills, continuous learning, judgment/critical thinking, planning, problem-solving, quality focus, reliability, safety and risk management, and technical expertise.
