Respiratory Therapist, PEDS Hampton Roads. This position involves providing comprehensive respiratory care to pediatric patients within a healthcare facility. The role includes evaluating patient conditions, implementing treatment plans, and educating patients and families on treatment procedures and discharge instructions.

Job Details

• Certifications: Valid Respiratory Therapist (RT) license; Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Education Requirements: Relevant respiratory therapy credentialing.
• Location Requirements: Must be able to work in Hampton Roads.
• Years of Experience: 0 years.
• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week.
• Responsibilities include operating ventilatory equipment (both invasive and non-invasive), performing chest physiotherapy, suctioning, administering medications via nebulizers, monitoring oximetry and capnography, reviewing x-rays, conducting pulmonary function studies, assisting with procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placement, performing arterial punctures, and maintaining accurate records of treatments.
• Performs tracheostomy care, manages respiratory equipment, and participates in emergency resuscitation protocols following BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Operates and maintains ventilatory and diagnostic equipment; facilitates preventative maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Communicates treatment responses to attending physicians and documents all clinical activity thoroughly.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
