Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist, Pediatric (RT PEDS) Cleveland, OH. This role involves providing intensive respiratory care and patient transport within a healthcare facility. The Respiratory Therapist evaluates patients, recommends treatment plans, and administers physician-prescribed therapies, including invasive and non-invasive ventilatory support, oxygen therapy, and nebulization. The position requires comprehensive patient education and support throughout the treatment process.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Valid Respiratory Therapist (RT) license and Pediatric specialization; no minimum years of experience required; available in Cleveland, OH.
• Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
• Responsibilities include operating ventilatory equipment, performing chest physiotherapy, suctioning, monitoring via oximetry and capnography, reviewing chest x-rays, conducting pulmonary function studies, assisting with procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placement, and performing tracheostomy care.
• Performs arterial puncture, ventilation efficiency assessments, and documentation of treatments and patient responses.
• Conducts CPR per BLS and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support guidelines.
• Operates, maintains, and monitors various types of ventilatory equipment, assisting in repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Communicates treatment effectiveness and patient progress during shift hand-offs and ensures accurate respiratory therapy charging records.
• Performs other duties as assigned, adhering to policies and procedures related to laboratory testing, specimen handling, and quality controls.
• Additional clinical duties include setting up and operating mechanical ventilation systems, inserting/removing endotracheal tubes, and assisting with emergency airway management.
