Job Summary

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist position responsible for performing diagnostic examinations under the direction of a licensed independent practitioner. The role applies magnetic resonance safety principles, selects appropriate imaging protocols, operates computerized imaging systems, and supports patients throughout examinations.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Valid American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Magnetic Resonance (ARRT MR) certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; graduation from a Joint Commission-approved school of radiologic technology or an accredited magnetic resonance imaging program, or equivalent education and experience; proficiency with magnetic resonance imaging procedures, cross-sectional anatomy, patient positioning, safety screening, and computerized imaging systems.
• Preferred Qualifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Radiography (ARRT R) certification; previous experience as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist; experience in an acute care setting.
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, day shifts with variable hours of 7:00 AM3:30 PM or 12:00 PM8:30 PM; 8-hour shifts and 40 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Performs examinations for patients across the lifespan, including neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. Responsibilities include identifying contraindications and risks associated with magnetic fields and radiofrequency energy, educating patients before examinations, administering contrast media when appropriate, and producing and managing images through a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
