Job Summary

Respiratory Therapist, Respiratory Therapist Registered Laurel Highlands. Provides comprehensive respiratory care and patient transport within the scope of professional licensure and with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, administering respiratory therapies, managing ventilatory equipment, monitoring patient response, and educating patients and caregivers.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Professional respiratory therapy licensure and ability to practice within the authorized scope of care.
• Additional Information: Responsibilities include administering invasive and non-invasive ventilation, oxygen and aerosol therapies, nebulizer treatments, chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, arterial punctures, tracheostomy care, endotracheal tube insertion and removal, mechanical ventilation management, cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) guidelines, respiratory assessments, patient and caregiver education, treatment documentation, equipment maintenance coordination, and communication of patient status during shift handoffs.
