Job Summary

Physical Therapist Assistant, Skilled Nursing Facility. The Physical Therapist Assistant supports the delivery of physical therapy services through transportation, therapeutic exercises, functional activities, mobility training, and patient education. The role implements treatment plans established by the Physical Therapist while promoting patient safety, quality care, and effective collaboration with the healthcare team.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid state Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; minimum of 2 years of bedside experience.
• Additional Information: Assists with therapeutic interventions including posture training, strengthening, endurance and cardiac training, balance and coordination exercises, joint mobility, pain relief, functional skills, and community re-entry training. Provides mobility training using orthotics, prosthetics, canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs; demonstrates proper guarding and safety techniques; monitors patient responses; documents patient progress and education; trains caregivers in mobility, transfers, positioning, and exercise; participates in team conferences and continuing education; maintains treatment areas and equipment; and follows applicable safety, infection-control, ethical, and professional standards.
