Job Summary

Registered Respiratory Therapist, RT PEDS: Provides respiratory care, pulmonary diagnostic testing, and cardiology diagnostic testing to patients across a variety of healthcare settings. The role includes mechanical ventilator management, patient assessment, treatment evaluation, clinical documentation, and collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Job Details

Required Qualifications: Associate or technical degree; Registered Respiratory Therapist credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC); current respiratory therapy license as required by the state of practice; Arizona Respiratory License; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; minimum of 1 year of clinical experience; knowledge of clinical techniques, applications, and respiratory care equipment.
Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications; additional related education or experience; Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience.
Schedule: Day shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Weekend and holiday coverage may be required.
Responsibilities: Independently provide respiratory care and pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic testing; operate and manage mechanical ventilators; assemble, maintain, troubleshoot, and clean respiratory care equipment; assess patients and evaluate responses to therapy; recommend modifications to treatment plans; document care accurately; collaborate with physicians and healthcare personnel; and provide care in various areas where respiratory services are needed.
Additional Information: The role may involve supervising staff and requires frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and stretching. Physical demands include responding promptly to patient-care needs, assisting with patient transfers, using proper body mechanics, handling equipment, and lifting up to 75 pounds. Standard precautions are required due to potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
