Job Summary

Respiratory Therapist, Registered. Provides respiratory therapy services and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities under the direction of a physician and by prescription. The role supports patients across all age groups and patient service areas while operating respiratory equipment, monitoring clinical responses, and responding to emergency situations.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care-approved respiratory program; minimum of two years of experience; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RTT) credential; PA state license; compliance with PA Acts 31, 33, 34, and 73; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification may be required for certain assignments.
• Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Responsibilities include assessing patient conditions and treatment needs, evaluating medical orders, interpreting clinical data, operating and testing mechanical ventilators and other respiratory equipment, administering inhaled therapies and medicinal gases, monitoring physiological responses, performing pulmonary function testing and bronchopulmonary drainage, maintaining therapy documentation, assisting with transport of mechanically ventilated patients, and responding to code situations.
