Job Summary

Respiratory Therapist, Respiratory Therapist Registered, Rochelle Park, NJ. The Respiratory Therapist provides intensive respiratory care, patient transport, treatment evaluation, and patient education within the scope of professional licensure and with minimal supervision. The role operates and monitors invasive and noninvasive ventilatory equipment, administers prescribed respiratory treatments, and supports cardiopulmonary procedures.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: New Jersey state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Additional Information:
  • Provides respiratory treatments using ventilators, oxygen and aerosol devices, nebulizers, and other respiratory care equipment.
  • Performs suctioning, chest physiotherapy, oximetry, capnography, pulmonary function studies, arterial punctures, and tracheostomy care.
  • Performs 12-lead electrocardiograms and basic arrhythmia recognition.
  • Assists with bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomy, chest tube placement, endotracheal tube insertion and removal, and other respiratory care procedures.
  • Monitors mechanical ventilation, completes equipment checks, supports equipment maintenance, and documents patient treatments and responses.
  • Communicates patient care information during shift-to-shift handoffs and with attending and pulmonary physicians.
  • Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) guidelines.
