Work Experience:
- The Clinical Staff/Ambulatory Pharmacist provides comprehensive patient care services through inpatient pharmacy functions, including but not limited to order entry/verification, medication checking/dispensing and other pertinent tasks that ensure safe and effective use of medications.
- The Pharmacist may also rotate into ambulatory roles such as anticoagulation clinic services, oncology or others as determined by Manager.
- The Clinical Staff/Ambulatory Pharmacist will be involved in patient care activities supporting a variety of patient populations, ranging from geriatrics to pediatrics.
- Recent hospital experience preferred.
- If rotating to an Ambulatory position:Pharmacy residency experience preferred.
- Knowledge of all current state and federal laws pertaining to the practice of pharmacy
- Ability to positively interact with other pharmacy technicians, pharmacists, providers, nurses, other health system employees, and medical sales representatives.
- If rotating to the Anticoagulation Clinic: Meets the American Heart Association’s standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years.
- Receives minimal supervision from the Pharmacy Manager and Supervisors.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required.
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred.
- Advanced practice certifications preferred
- Current license issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy or eligible for reciprocation in Pennsylvania within 90 days of hire.
Certifications:
BLS/CPR Certification.
