Description

Shift:

Days: 06:30 – 15:00; 07:00 – 15:30; 13:00 – 21:30; 15:00 – 23:30

Nights: 21:00 – 07:00

Weekends: 07:00 – 15:30; 10:00 – 16:30; 15:00 – 23:30

Work Experience:

Oversees all laboratory testing and coordinates all point of care testing (POCT). Reviews and evaluates the validity and accuracy of test results. Functions as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist when needed. Identifies education and competency needs and conducts laboratory personnel training programs on instrumentation, technology and procedure as needed. Conducts training programs on instrumentation, technology and procedure as needed.

Establishes the laboratory?s test performance characteristics, including precision, accuracy, reference ranges and reportable ranges. Evaluates new and evolving developments in laboratory instrumentation, procedures, reagents and automation for possible implementation. Acts as a liaison to other departments of the medical center for the appropriate laboratory specialty. Is responsible for the department meeting all regulatory requirements Education:
Bachelors Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, biological sciences, chemical sciences or allied health technologies or equivalent License:
Valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license in state of employment Certifications:
BLS/CPR Certification.
