Description

SHIFT: 7P-7:30A/3shifts/Week
EMR: EPIC
EXP: Min 3yrs
CERT: BLS NRP
MISC::REQUIRED TO WORK EOW & HOLS.
  The job description of a NICU nurse includes: 
  • Caring for infants' basic needs, such as diaper changes and feeding.
  • Coordinating the infants' medical treatments with the NICU physician.
  • Offering comfort and support to premature and ill newborns and their parents and family members.
  • Attending births, measuring and weighing infants, caring for and monitoring the health of infants directly after birth, and educating new parents about breastfeeding and the care of their child.
  • Performing comprehensive patient care, including assessments and vital sign monitoring.
  • Drawing blood and performing other specialized procedures.
  • Collaborating with the healthcare team, including nurses, physicians, and neonatal nurse practitioners.
  • Organizing, assigning, and supervising duties and responsibilities of other staff members as a team leader. 
  • Sharing expertise and knowledge with coworkers and peers. 
  • Utilizing the nursing process to develop a care plan and deliver patient care. 
  • Following hospital/unit directives.
