Description
o Level II Trauma Center
o Level III NICU
o Primary Stroke Center
● General Information:
o Number of Cath Labs: 4 rooms
o Will you accept a traveler with 1-year experience? Yes, but must be interventional Cath Lab experience, not just diagnostic Cath Lab .
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
o Lead available to use if traveler does not have their own
● Patient Types:
o Required experience: STEMI/NSTEMI, LHC/RHC, CHF, Angina, ACS, Afib, IABP/Impella, CTOs, staged/protected PCI, pericardiocentesis, temp pacers,
o EP (experience not required): Pacemaker, MICRA, lead extractions/revisions, gen changes, ablations
o Vascular (experience not required): Peripheral cases, carotids
o PE (experience not required) – Inari and EKOS
o Hybrid/Structural (experience not required) - Watchman, TAVR, PFOs
o If a patient is not from the ICU, they will go to the CVR (Cardiovascular Recovery) area after the case
● Patients seen in a day:
o 20-25
● Required Certifications:
o BLS, ACLS, ARRT, RCIS (preferred, not required)
● Skills required:
o Laser lead extraction, Rotablator, FFR, IVUS, Impella, IABP(ballon pump), EKOS, pacemaker, scrub and pan table, medrad, groin site management and monitoring.
● Support on the Unit:
o Cath Lab Coordinator/Supervisor – will make room assignments and manage board
o RT 24/7
o Hospitalist 24/7
o Cardiologist on call
o RRT/Code Team
o Transporter during the day, but RN will take pt to recovery area
● Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: Cerner
o Hemodynamic Monitoring System: XPER (Phillips system)
o PACS: IntellaSpace
o Medication dispensing: Omnicell
o Other equipment used (experience not required): Medtronic ACT machine, Rotapro, CSI, shockwave, laser, Rotablator, FFR, IVUS
● Floating: If yes, where?
o No floating required
● Orientation:
o Travelers who are new to the facility or return travelers who have been gone for 1+ years will have 24 hours of classroom time
o On the unit, can have 1-3 shift of orientation, depending on traveler comfort but will need to be comfortable by the following Monday
o Rehires: orientation will depend on last date here
● Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation:
▪ On call every 4th weekend, Friday EOS until Monday at 0630
o On call? If so, what is that schedule?
▪ Weekdays: 1 call night week, possibly 1 late shift per week as well.
● Weekday call is EOS until 0630 the following morning
● Late shift will stay late until the cases are done but will not be on call after that. Late shift and call shift will not be worked concurrently
● 4 man call team – 2 RN, 2 Techs
▪ Will not be on call prior to your day off
▪ Manager makes the call schedule and regular schedule
▪ 30-minute response time.
o Call rooms available, check with manager to reserve
o Holiday Expectations: One major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy
o Approval of time off? Approval of RTO to go through manager
o Shift times: 630a-7p with call and late
o Schedule cycle: 3-6 weeks
● Other notes:
o Scrub Color: We provide green hospital scrubs
