Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

City/State: Rapid City, South Dakota

Shift: 12 Hour Variable, 4x12 Flex, 07:00:00-19:00:00

Contract Length: 96 weeks

Start Date: 05/25/2026

Job Description:

The registered nurse will provide comprehensive care to pregnant patients in a Labor & Delivery unit with Level 3 NICU capability, managing both high-risk and low-intervention births.

Responsibilities:

  • Care for patients in antepartum, labor, and postpartum stages.
  • Manage and administer medications including magnesium sulfate and insulin.
  • Perform IV starts and cervical checks, and circulate during C-sections.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team, including OB physicians and anesthesia professionals.
  • Float to postpartum/couplet care as needed throughout the contract.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure by the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required.
  • Two years of Labor & Delivery experience, preferably in a Level 3 or higher unit.
  • Experience with EPIC charting system and competency in managing high acuity labor patients required.
  • Comfortable with caring for couplets and Level I nursery patients, preferable experience with Level II NICU patients.
