Job Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) is responsible for providing critical care to patients in a highly demanding setting that involves cardiac surgery recovery, complex monitoring, and maintaining a sterile field during procedures. RNs must demonstrate competency in handling high acuity cases such as IABP, CABG, and a range of bedside procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care, monitoring vital signs, and administering medications.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Float to other ICUs and Tele units as required; maintain patient ratios accordingly.
• Participate in floor-specific orientation and ongoing training as necessary.

Requirements:

• MUST HAVE LEVEL I TRAUMA EXPERIENCE.
• Pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (two attempts allowed).
• ACLS, BLS certification required; CCRN preferred.
• Experience in ICU, with a preference for CVICU.
• Strong IV skills and competency in maintaining a sterile field.
• Natural hair color, no facial piercings; men must be clean shaven for fit test.
