Job Description:
The Registered Nurse in the PCU will provide high-quality care to adults with a variety of diagnoses in a progressive care unit setting.
Responsibilities:
- Perform cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV starts, and blood product administration.
- Manage drain/tube systems, indwelling catheter insertion, and continuous bladder irrigation.
- Provide thorough physical assessments and maintain strong clinical judgment.
- Ensure effective communication and a professional bedside manner.
- Participate in team nursing and task-swapping as needed.
Requirements:
- Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing.
- Minimum 1-year experience required for PCU RN; specific titration experience of medications preferred.
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS.
- Experience in managing cardiac and vasoactive drips.
- Comfortable working alongside LPNs as part of a cohesive team.
- Adaptability and a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
