Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the PCU unit will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to a diverse group of patients. The unit consists of mixed acuity cases including Intermediate Care, Telemetry, and MedSurg patients, ensuring a challenging and rewarding professional environment.

Responsibilities:

• Care for patients with varying medical conditions such as CVA, seizures, cellulitis, and renal failure.
• Perform medication administration, blood transfusions, and titratable vasoactive drips.
• Manage therapy and devices including IV, midline, PICC, central lines, chest tubes, and urinary devices.
• Provide wound care and telemetry monitoring.
• Collaborate with charge nurses, support staff, and hospitalists to manage patient care efficiently.

Requirements:

• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• A minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a PCU or similar setting.
• Completion of a board-approved nursing education program.
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips and experience in line and tube management.
• Familiarity with Epic charting system preferred.
