Job Description:

The Physical Therapy Assistant will provide support to the Home Health Department, assisting medically compromised patients, including those with CHF, COPD, DM, and cardiac issues, as well as ortho, neuro, dementia, and general weakness. The role involves working with a patient demographic ranging from early adults to geriatrics.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the delivery of physical therapy services under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Document patient treatments accurately and communicate findings to the overseeing PT.
• Participate in departmental meetings and patient care conferences as needed.
• Perform patient assessments and treatment interventions.

Requirements:

• Physical Therapy Assistant completion of a program approved by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT).
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Current SD licensure and BLS certification.
• General physical therapy assistant skills, effective treatment, and medical assessment capabilities.
