Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the Cardio Vascular ICU will provide specialized care to patients with acute cardiovascular conditions. The role involves interpreting and managing dysrhythmias, multi-system organ failure, and other specialized cardiac procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Interpretation/management of dysrhythmias, multi-system organ failure, thermoregulation, CABG, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, Impella, Post Cardiac Surgery (not directly from the OR), Pre/Post Cardiac Cath/intervention
• Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring, Valve Replacement/Repair, LVAD/RVAD, CVVHD/CRRT, IV therapy (accessing ports, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, starting IVs)
• Manage Medications (continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, procedural sedation administration, titrate cardiac drips, titrate vasoactive drips), CVA/Acute Stroke Management
• Assist with BiPAP, CPAP, Care of ventilated patient, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), ABGs interpretation, suctioning (ETT, NT), ventilator management, infection prevention, isolations precautions/Use of PPE, phlebotomy
• Manage surgical wounds with drains/wound vac

Requirements:

• 3 years of Cardio Vascular ICU experience
• Active IL license, CPR, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• Epic experience, Must pass an EKG test, Charge experience preferred
• Submit an updated resume, CV ICU skills checklist within the last year, CV reference from a supervisor within the last year
