Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse - ER

City/State: Rapid City, South Dakota

Shift: 12 Hour Variable

Contract Length: 12 weeks

Start Date: 06/01/2026

Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) will provide care to a diverse patient population, from neonates to geriatric, managing a range of conditions from minor to critical. The RN will be tasked with handling a heavy trauma population, stroke patients, cardiac care, and potentially managing sexual assault cases and evidence collection. Traveling RNs are expected to float within skill set requirements when necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive emergency care for all level of patients requiring critical thinking and appropriate prioritization.
  • Perform ESI assessments during Triage and provide excellent patient care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to support trauma cases and critical patients.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience as an RN, excluding travel experience.
  • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, and PALS; preferred CPI or MAB/MOAB.
  • Completion of a nursing education program approved by the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
