Job Description:

The Surgical Tech will be responsible for assisting in surgeries, primarily orthopedic, ortho trauma, and general surgery types. Must have a strong orthopedic background and be able to read and interpret EKG strips.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, or other surgical personnel.
• Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room.
• Ensure all necessary equipment and instruments are available and functional.
• Rotate in with core staff for holidays, working 2 of the 3 major holidays as needed.
• First to float among units as required.

Requirements:

• 2 supervisor references required; one within the last 12 months and another within 3 years worked.
• BLS Certification.
• Ability to read and interpret EKG strips.
• Completion of required modules prior to assignment start, approximately 3-4 hours (non-billable).
