Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the Cardio Vascular ICU is responsible for providing critical care to patients with cardiovascular conditions. This role involves monitoring patients, performing specialized nursing care, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure the highest quality of care.

Responsibilities:

• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and multi-system organ failure
• Care for patients undergoing procedures such as CABG, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, and Valve Replacement/Repair
• Manage Post Cardiac Surgery care (not directly from the OR) and Pre/Post Cardiac Cath/intervention
• Monitor Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz and CVVHD/CRRT therapy
• Administer and manage IV therapies, medications, and blood products
• Assist with management of ventilated patients including use of BiPAP, CPAP, and HFNC
• Interpretation of ABGs and management of suctioning and ventilator
• Implement infection prevention and isolation precautions
• Perform phlebotomy and manage surgical wounds
• Float to Glenbrook MICU, Evanston ICU, or Highland Park ICU if needed
• Partake in 16 hours of non-billable orientation

Requirements:

• 3 years CV ICU experience
• Active IL license, CPR, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• Epic experience
• Ability to pass an EKG test with a score of 80% or above
• Charge experience preferred
• Experience with impella, ECMO, and managing LVAD patients is preferred
• Submit an updated resume, CV ICU skills checklist, supervisor reference, and EKG test results
