Shift: 10-hour shift per day from 6:30am - 5pm; 4 days a week (weekdays); with on-call.

Contract Length: 91 weeks

Job Description:

This position requires performing basic duties of a surgical technologist, including assisting with positioning, surgical prepping, and draping of the surgical patient. Responsibilities include setting up an operating room before surgery and ensuring all needed equipment and instrumentation are available and in working condition for the scheduled surgical procedure. Surgical specialties include: General Surgery, Orthopedic, Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Podiatry, Urology, etc. for adult and pediatric patients.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with positioning, surgical prepping, and draping of the surgical patient.
• Set up an operating room before surgery and ensure all needed equipment and instrumentation is available and in working condition.

Requirements:

• Completion of an approved Surgical Technician training program accredited by the Association of Surgical Technologist (AST) or equivalent on-the-job training.
• Certification/Licensure: Must be certified within 6 months after 3-year qualification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA 3yr) or Surgical Technologist Certification (CST), or current certification from National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT-3yr 6240 hours) Certified Tech in Surgery (TS-C).
• Must maintain a current valid certification of Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association throughout employment.
