Job Description:

The RN in the ICU is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in a multi-care unit with varied acuities. The role includes monitoring patients, administering medications, and working with a team to ensure the highest quality of care is delivered.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and individualized patient care in an ICU setting, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
• Administer medications, including titratable drips such as sedation, vasopressors, and insulin, and monitor patients using bedside cardiac monitors and remote tech support.
• Float between units as needed, including EC MST, Pediatric unit, and West Campus ICU/PCU.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team, including remote monitor techs and respiratory therapists, to deliver comprehensive care.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, or 1 year each in ICU and PCU/Med Surg in larger facilities.
• Must hold certifications in BLS and ACLS.
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam with a minimum score of 80% within two attempts.
• Current license to submit; BSN not required.
• Proficiency in Cerner charting system.
