Job Description:
The registered nurse in the CVOR unit must scrub, with strong cardiovascular operating room experience necessary. The role involves assisting in surgeries as needed, ensuring proper preparation and coordination in the operating room.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in cardiovascular surgeries, including CABG and valve procedures
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery, including sterile scrub
- Participate in the call schedule for overnight and weekend coverage
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Cerner EMR system
- Collaborate with surgical and nursing teams to optimize patient outcomes
Requirements:
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience
- Ability to read and interpret EKG strips
- Comfortable participating in a fast-paced, high-volume OR environment
- Willingness to participate in varied shift scheduling, including call assignments
