Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the OR will work across a broad range of surgical specialties, including Urology, Neuro, Ortho, Robotics, General, Podiatry, ENT, Gynecology, and Trauma. The role requires significant experience in OR settings, ideally in Level 1 or 2 trauma environments.

Responsibilities:

• Provide perioperative care for surgical patients, maintaining a patient ratio of OR 1:1, Pre-Op 1:2, PACU Phase I - 1:1 or 1:2, based on acuity, and PACU Phase II - 1:2-3.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes RN/First Assist/Surg Tech, Nurse Clinician, CRN, Service Line Lead, HUC, Scheduler, Preference Card Analyst, and Anesthesia.
• Participate in on-call duties, ideally one overnight shift per week and every third weekend, with a 15-minute response time.
• Utilize electronic health records (EPIC) and equipment such as Omnicell and Alaris.
• Support floating as needed to Endo and PreOp/PACU/Floor for non-peri-op services.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of OR experience, with Level 1 or 2 trauma experience preferred.
• Certifications: RN license, BLS, ACLS.
• Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing and South Dakota Board of Nursing registration.
• Skills in Ortho-Trauma, Neuro, General, Robotics, and surgical experience in a tertiary care center.
• Travelers must live more than 100 miles away from the facility.
