Job Description:
The RN will provide care to patients who require intermediate care and downgraded CVICU patients. The unit supports the thoracic program, EP, cath lab, and structural heart services.
Responsibilities:
- Provide care with nurse:patient ratios of 1:4, 1:3 for post-surgical patients in the first 24 hours
- Titrate drips including Amio, nitro, nicardipine, epi, and cardizem
- Read and interpret tele/monitor strips
- Support the thoracic program, EP, cath lab, and structural heart
Requirements:
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- 1 year of experience with the patient population
- Must pass an open-book exam with 90% or higher during orientation
- Driver's license required at submittal; must be outside 50-mile radius
- Compliance with the fingernail policy (artificial nails prohibited)
