Job Description:

Registered Nurse (RN) position in Med Surg unit responsible for providing comprehensive care to a diverse patient population, including post-op patients and those requiring wound care, dialysis, and intravenous therapies.

Responsibilities:

• Perform basic patient assessments and general care for wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, and chest tubes.
• Manage care for patients requiring dialysis or PCA pumps, with only Heparin as the drip used.
• Conduct post-op procedures such as amputations, ostomy care, oral surgeries, and the use of wound vacs.
• Participate in bedside shift reports, safety checks every 1-2 hours, and prioritize communication and responsiveness for patient experience requirements.

Requirements:

• Certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Experience with Meditech documentation system and ability to float as needed.
• Ability to adhere to scheduling requirements of four weekend shifts in a four-week block.
• Compliance with unit guidelines and policies including HAI, fall prevention, and medication scanning.
