Job Description:
The ICU Registered Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care to critically ill patients, managing various medications, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Provide patient care to ICU patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2-3 for adults.
- Administer and titrate medications such as cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation.
- Monitor and interpret EKG strips and document findings appropriately.
- Float to PCU or MedSurg as required maintaining similar nurse-to-patient ratios.
- Participate in a minimum of 1 orientation shift specific to the unit/department.
Requirements:
- Valid RN license and driver's license required to confirm residency radius.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
- Pass a 90% or higher open book skills exam during orientation.
- Compliance with facilities' fingernail policy and availability for various scheduling requirements.
