Description

Job Title

Respiratory Therapist NICU

City/State: Montgomery, Alabama

Shift: 7:00AM - 7:00PM, 12 hr Days, Every other weekend rotation

Contract Length: 12 weeks

Start Date: 07/20/2026

Job Description:

The Respiratory Therapist will work with both NICU and adult populations. Responsibilities include providing respiratory care within a 36-bed unit, typically serving 18-20 patients. The therapist must be capable of working independently in a level 3 NICU.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide general and critical respiratory care to adult and NICU patients
  • Perform ground transports and Nitric Oxide administration for NICU
  • Utilize EMR systems such as Cerner and equipment like Omnicell and Spacelabs monitors
  • Operate various ventilators including PB 840, PB 980, Drager VN500, LTV, Airvo, and Oscillator (3100A)
  • Float to any like unit/patient location as required

Requirements:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred, CRT with a minimum of 2 years' experience considered
  • BLS and NRP certifications required for NICU; ACLS/APLS preferred
  • Two years of experience in a level 3 NICU mandatory
  • Experience with Cerner or EPIC (EMR) required
  • Must be able to independently handle responsibilities in a level 3 NICU
