Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the Trauma ICU will provide care to adults and pediatric patients over 15 years of age with various trauma injuries. This facility is a level 1 trauma center and handles numerous transfers and emergency department admissions. The RN will need to titrate drips and handle vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics.

Responsibilities:

• Provide care in a fast-paced unit with critically ill patients.
• Troubleshoot and manage respiratory therapy equipment such as nasal cannula and ventilators.
• Read and interpret telemetry monitors without dedicated tech support.
• Maintain patient care within a ratio of 1:1-2 ICU or 1:4 PCU.
• Participate in self-scheduling to meet unit needs and adhere to weekend requirements.

Requirements:

• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 50 miles radius rule; candidates should not be associated with CommonSpirit facilities.
• Pass an open book skills competency exam with at least 90% during orientation.
• Troubleshooting experience with RT equipment is essential.
• Navy blue scrub dress code adherence.
