Job Description:

This position is primarily within the Intensive Care Unit and periodically will float to ED, Med/Surg or Peds in case of low census. Provides nursing care to critically ill patients. The Registered Nurse performs a variety of responsible nursing care procedures requiring professional knowledge and consideration of specific patient conditions and treatments and ability to work independently in completing assignments. Nursing duties include the provision of inpatient care and support in the 5 Bed I.C.U. to individuals of all ages and their families. After hours recovery of post op general surgery, pediatric, & OB patients as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Float to ED, Med/Surg, or Peds as needed.
• Perform responsible nursing care procedures.
• Support inpatient care and recovery for post op patients.

Requirements:

• Must have at least 3 years of prior ICU experience.
• Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Current valid unrestricted Professional Nursing License (RN) to practice nursing in any state of the United States of America, The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
• Maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) must be completed within six months of hire.
• National Institutes of Health (NIH) NIHSS must be completed within six months of hire.
