Job Description:

The Emergency Department Travel RN will provide high-acuity nursing care in a 22-bed unit within the Valle Regional Medical Center. The RN will work alongside a team consisting of charge nurses, registered nurses, ER techs, and support staff, utilizing the Meditech EMR system.

Responsibilities:

  • IV insertion, medication administration, EKGs, splinting, and wound care
  • Moderate sedation for procedures such as reductions or cardioversion
  • Assisting with intubation, CPR, rapid sequence intubation, and code response
  • Care of stroke, STEMI, sepsis, trauma, and behavioral health patients
  • Transport preparation and coordination for higher levels of care
  • Triage assessment and prioritization based on ESI guidelines
  • Isolation and infection control protocols
  • Documentation and reassessment in fast-paced environments

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of recent Emergency Department experience in a high-acuity setting
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (TNCC preferred)
  • Strong triage and critical thinking skills
  • Trauma and cardiac alert experience, including care of STEMI, stroke, and sepsis patients
  • Experience with Meditech documentation system preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
