Shift: Days, 06:45-19:15, EOW, floating & call required

Job Description:

The Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care during the antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phase of Obstetrical care to Labor and Delivery patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and Hospital policy and procedures. The registered nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment and leadership in the anticipation and planning for safe delivery of care.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assist laboring patients
• Communicate with providers
• Circulate in OR for cesarean sections (c/s)
• Triage patients who are 20 weeks pregnant and up
• Support newborn resuscitation and recovery for both vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Provide care to antepartum patients requiring care in L&D

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience required
• 2+ previously completed travel assignments in Labor & Delivery required
• BLS, ACLS, NRP certifications required
• CPN & Cerner experience preferred
• Must be able to pass an EKG
