PCU Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Summary

This position involves providing nursing care in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Float Pool, where the nurse will float to all PCU and Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) floors, primarily caring for cardiac patients. The nurse will be responsible for managing a patient ratio of 1:3-4 and will handle cases including STEMI, NSTEMI, chest pain, and other cardiac conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor cardiac drips, including Milrinone, Dobutamine, and pressors.
• Provide care and monitoring for patients in telemetry beds with lower acuity levels as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care plans and treatment progress.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices and protocols in cardiac care.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• A minimum of two years of experience as a nurse in a similar-sized facility.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a diverse patient population.
• Minimal restrictions on time off (RTO) preferred.
