Shift: Monday-Friday 0645-1515 with call/lates and weekend requirements

Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Description:

A caregiver who provides surgical support under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse or Clinical Supervisor. Provides Surgeon with instrumentation needs. Acts as a liaison between Physician, patient and family, and collaborates with other healthcare members. Assists in orientation of new personnel, is responsible for call coverage, attends team meetings, assists general surgery as needed and may participate in other interdisciplinary or departmental committees. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for all general procedures according to specific chronological age, developmental age, and/or psycho-social maturity.

Responsibilities:

• Provide surgical support under direction of RN or Clinical Supervisor
• Supply Surgeon with needed instruments
• Act as a liaison between Physician, patient, and family
• Assist in orientation process of new personnel
• Responsible for call coverage and attendance at team meetings
• Assist general surgery as needed and participate in interdisciplinary or departmental committees

Requirements:

• Experience required in ortho, neuro/ortho spine, general/robotics, urology/gyn, and vascular
• Completion of Net Learning modules within 1 week of confirmation (about 60 modules)
• Graduate of an Accredited Surgical Technician School or an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nursing
• At least 2 years of prior experience as a Surgical Technician and 1 year of travel/temp experience
• Passage of National Surgical Technician Certification Exam is preferred
• BLS Certification through the American Heart Association required
