Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) will provide care for patients with mixed medical/surgical needs, including cardiac and stroke patients, typically arriving through the ER. The role involves titrating various drips, interpreting telemetry, and collaborating with a team in a high flow unit with frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Responsibilities:
- Titrating drips such as Heparin, octreotide, insulin, and maintenance IV medications
- Reading and interpreting telemetry
- Collaborating with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient care
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Must pass an open book exam with a score of 90% or higher during orientation
- Compliance with hospital dress code of navy blue scrubs
- Ability to float to Med/Surg and ICU/ED as required
