Description
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Cath Lab Technician for a 13-week contract position. The ideal candidate will work day shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and will be required to participate in on-call rotations. Candidates must possess ACLS and BLS certifications.
Unit Information
- Location: El Paso, TX
- Number of Beds: 3 operating cath lab rooms (2 are EP compatible)
- Staffing: 2 RNs and 2 CV techs per case unless anesthesiologist or non-invasive procedures are involved.
- Patient Ratios: Not applicable
- Equipment: Cath lab EMR Meditech
- Permanent Positions Available: Yes
Qualifications
- Must Have: Cath Lab experience, BLS, and ACLS certifications
- Preferred: RCIS or Cardiovascular Nurse certification
Typical Procedures
- Cardiac Catheterization
- Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
- Electrophysiology (EP) procedures including atrial fibrillation (A-fib)
- Watchman Device Implantation
- Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
- INARI procedure
- Device placements (e.g., PPM, ICD)
- Impella insertion

The department is a fast-paced environment that is team-oriented and requires individuals to demonstrate strong work ethics. Ideal candidates will thrive in high-pressure scenarios and be adaptable to constantly evolving situations.
Dress Code
The uniform for this position should be royal blue or black scrubs. Attire not acceptable includes casual wear or non-professional clothing.

The unit has received multiple awards, including 2 facility STS awards, and is recognized for having the largest structural volume in the region with excellent patient outcomes, including a very low PCI mortality rate.
