Description
The Telemetry Unit is seeking qualified Registered Nurses to provide exceptional patient care. This unit specializes in managing patients with cardiac and medical conditions, with a focus on telemetry monitoring.
Unit Information
- Location: City, State
- Unit Size: 49 Beds
- Patient Ratios: 1:5
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and monitor telemetry strips, with the expectation of signing off at least once per shift.
- Manage patient care and assessments for individuals with various diagnoses including CHF, COVID, respiratory issues, GI problems, diabetes, post-catheterization, and total joint replacements.
- Titrate non-titratable and set-rate drips, predominantly Diltiazem/Cardizem at a set rate.
- Collaborate effectively with Charge Nurses and House Supervisors.
- Provide supervision and support to Nurse Aides, maintaining patient safety and care standards.
Qualifications
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
- Experience in reading basic telemetry strips is essential.
- Prior exposure to CVA and TIA is preferred.
- Cerner experience is recommended due to the limited orientation period.
- Experience with total joint replacement patients is beneficial.
Orientation and Scheduling
- One shift of orientation will be provided on the unit.
- Shifts are scheduled from 7 AM to 7 PM, utilizing self-scheduling with managerial oversight.
- Weekend Commitment: Minimum of 2 weekends within a 4-week schedule.
- Holiday Requirement: Work two days and an evening or two evenings and a day during peak holidays such as Christmas, New Years, and Thanksgiving.
Additional Information
- Floating to other units may be required based on qualifications.
- Scrubs/Dress Code: Navy Blue.
- No call or standby requirements.
