Multi Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Multi Care Unit team. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a versatile unit accommodating various acuities including Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Progressive Care Unit (PCU), and Med-Surg patients.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in compliance with established protocols and procedures.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs and laboratory results.
• Titrate and manage medications and infusions as required.
• Perform and interpret 12-lead EKGs; monitor cardiac rhythms utilizing bedside monitors.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate actively in unit orientation and training programs.
• Float to additional units, including Pediatric and other adult care environments, as needed.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience or equivalent nursing experience in a larger facility.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Strong clinical skills and critical thinking capabilities.
• Experience with titratable and non-titratable infusions is a plus.

Unit Information

• Unit accommodates a total of 10 beds for varied acuities.
• Staffing ratios depend on patient acuity: ICU 1:2, PCU 1:4, MS/T 1:5-6.
• Nursing Assistants (NAs) are available, managing 10-15 patients on the unit.
• Shrs are 12-hour shifts, with weekend and holiday rotations required.

Location

This position is located in a city-based acute care setting within the region.

Additional Information

Orientation will include both hospital-wide and unit-specific training. Staff will also be required to support patients needing respiratory care equipment and participate in a flexible floating schedule to maintain proficiency across various unit types.
